Executive Biography

In 2011 Chuck Lennon retired after 30 years as executive director of the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association, and more than 35 years of service to the university. During his leadership of the Notre Dame Alumni Association, the organization earned a national reputation for innovation in programming.

Lennon’s career includes his promotion to assistant vice president of University Relations in 1991, and to associate vice president in 1999. He taught management at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Mendoza College of Business, received the Armstrong Award in 1989, the Notre Dame Presidential Award in 1993, and in 1992 was given the Irish Clover Award by the Notre Dame student body.

In 2002, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education presented him with their top award for enhancing professional development and career opportunities for multicultural professionals in higher education. He received an Honorary Doctor of Law degree at the 2011 Notre Dame commencement.

Lennon and his wife divide their time between South Bend, Ind., and Ave Maria, Fla. He coaches baseball at Ave Maria University in Naples.
