Executive Biography

David Persky, Ph.D., J.D., earned his undergraduate degree at Southern Methodist University and his master’s degree in personnel counseling at Miami University. He began his career in higher education at the University of South Florida where he served as assistant director of Housing and Food Services.

He earned a doctorate in higher education at Florida State University, and returned to USF where he served as assistant to the vice president for Academic Affairs, and later as associate dean for Student Affairs. In 1986 Persky left USF to pursue a law degree at Stetson University College of Law.

Persky returned to higher education in 1999 when he joined Saint Leo University as academic programs/administrator/associate dean for Continuing Education. He was appointed dean of Continuing Education in 2002, and promoted to assistant to the president in 2005. In 2012 Persky was appointed professor of criminal justice and chair of the Undergraduate Criminal Justice program at Saint Leo.
