Executive Biography

Keith Brant, Ph.D., is a senior advancement professional with more than 30 years of experience in higher education. He currently serves as the Vice Chancellor of University Relations at the University of California, Santa Cruz, leading campus-wide fundraising efforts as well as alumni relations, communications and marketing, government and community relations and special events.
Brant previously served as vice president for Development at Saint Mary’s College of California. His responsibilities encompassed attracting private financial support and strengthening the college’s relationships with alumni and other constituents.
Prior to St. Mary’s College of California, he served as the vice chancellor for External Relations at the University of California, San Diego. His work at UCSD included oversight of philanthropic development, university communications, alumni relations, state and local government relations, and advancement services.
Brant also served for 11 years as assistant vice chancellor for Alumni Relations and executive director of the UCLA Alumni Association, overseeing one of the world’s largest and most demographically diverse alumni associations.
He earned three degrees from UCLA, including a doctorate in higher education. Brant is a former trustee of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and chaired the CASE Commission on Alumni Relations. In addition, he is an established contributor of many articles in higher education journals and has served as a consultant/advisor on advancement issues to several institutions.
